Home Chest Workout
In this article I’m going to tell you about some home chest workouts which will help you to build up those chest muscles, as well as shoulder muscles, too. To begin with, let’s have a look at one of the most powerful chest exercises you can do at home. This exercise is called Twenty-Ones and you would normally perform this with bicep curls and barbell curls, but I’m going to explain how this technique has been modified so you can perform it at home.
Twenty-Ones
This exercise involves a normal Push-Up, but what you are going to do first is to perform partial reps, then as you progress you will perform full reps or full movement of the actual exercise. All of this will form one complete set.
To begin with your want to perform seven Push-Ups but only lower yourself half the way down and then raise yourself back up. Then you want to do another seven reps, but this time you go all the way down, but only raise yourself half the way up. Finally, you do another seven, but this time you do the full range of movement.
After completing one set, you’ll probably be feeling quite tired, but what you should be aiming for is at least five to six sets. You could also use Push-Up handle bars to help maximize the effects of this exercise.
Variations of the Push-Up
Let’s now take a look at some variations of the Push-Up. All these variations will help you to build up those chest muscles, and to maximize this, these exercises should be performed until you reach failure. That means you can’t do the exercise any more. You should aim to do these sets three times and only rest for 45 seconds between each.
The Push-Up (One Leg Up)
This variation of the Push-Up involves performing it with one leg raised in the air. After seven reps change so now the other leg is raised in the air. Perform this for another seven reps and keep repeating.
The Push-Up (Both Legs in the Air)
For this variation of the Push-Up you will have both legs in the air. To achieve this you get into the Push-Up position but you have both your legs resting on something like a sofa, while your hands are on the floor. Perform this for seven reps.
Floor Flys
Once again get into the Push-Up position and lower yourself. Now holding yourself in this position move your right arm out and crawl over to the right while keeping your legs still and then raise yourself. Now lower yourself again and move your left arm out and crawl over to the left. Then raise and keep repeating for seven.
Now we will move away from the Press-Up and look at the Chest Press.
Chest Press
To perform the Chest Press you are going to need a resistance band with a door attachment. Now stand away with your back to the door with your arms bent up by your side while holding the resistance band taut. Now while keeping the resistance band taut, raise your arms up and try to get your hands to touch each other just above your head. Then lower and repeat for seven reps.
Home Chest Workout
Keep working on this home chest workout regularly, and even though these exercises are hard, you’ll be ensured faster results. Building those chest and shoulder muscles won’t be rocket science when you perform this home chest workout.
