Breville BOV800XL Review, The Breville Smart Oven is a must-have kitchen appliance. In many/most cases it can serve as a replacement for it larger cousin the conventional oven/range. However, the Smart Oven is much more energy efficient (using roughly 50% less electricity) and can fit into the smallest of kitchens.
Breville BOV800XL Toaster Oven has instruction book (with about 30 recipes & ideas) is very easy to understand and follow. You could had it up and going in minutes, doing the initial heating for 15 minutes to rid the heating elements of a protective coating.

Breville BOV800XL Toaster Oven Pro's and Con's
Pro's- 1. Heats up FAST! I don't think I'll be using my regular oven very often anymore (and it's an old oven anyway.
- 2. Volume is generous i.e. it is able to hold small casserole dishes and even a pizza. Haven't tried the pizza yet but the casseroles made to date have come out delicious as if made in a regular oven.
- 3. Beautifully designed externally. The knobs are very intuitive and the controls are easy to learn even if you're not technologically savvy.
- 4. Auto ejects the wire rack for certain settings which for anyone who's ever burned their arm taking something out the oven, this is a nice thought by the engineers.
Con's
- 1. The cord Breville BOV800XL is a little short (less than 3 feet) - while many people may appreciate a short cord it does mean that you have to have outlet near a space where you plan to use the oven.
- 2. You may not be able to operate other appliances on your electrical circuit - At full heat the Smart Oven will pull between 15-20 amps - make sure that you have at least a 20amp breaker on the plug that you are using.

I bought a cheap one at a store but I soon saw it wasn't very good. Then I researched on Amazon, came across this, and it's been wonderful. There are multiple controls to use but it's very intuitive and easy to use, plus the multiple controls give you more control over what you get out. A very good value for the money, even though it's expensive money.
I typically do x slices of toast to y darkness, and what I set last time is the default when I start it up again--so just press Start and you're on your way if you're doing the usual again, so that's very simple to use. Our 20+ year old kitchen wall oven bit the dust (fried circuit board) and we purchased this Breville Smart Oven as a temporary solution until we got around to picking another wall oven. It took a few rounds to familiarize with the way it works... and then, it got lots of use. We baked/broiled many different foods and never had any problems. Foods turned out great. We put off replacing our wall oven for a year... and then... we still use this Breville on a regular basis (the double wall oven gets any large tasks). Also, I have only baked and broiled with the Breville and haven't used any of the other functions.
BTW, the oven can fit a 13" round pizza pan because the back wall of the oven has a notched out arc to fit the circle pan.
