Having become accustomed to the simplistic but effective Iron Gym pull-up bar, this Bowflex Bodytower arrived as a welcome replacement. Assembly of the unit was relatively easy and took about an hour, but it could be possibly shorter with two people. The tools needed to assemble are included and only a box knife is needed to open the box and extract the nuts and bolts from their plastic-covered cardboard backing. The box includes both an Assembly Manual and an Owner's Manual in English, separate manuals in French, and the option to view the Spanish manuals at the company's website. The Owner's Manual includes safety information, a few pages of general workout tips, a muscle chart, and nine pages of suggested exercises (most of which include illustrative images). Exercises include push-ups at various elevations, chin-ups, supine rows, and the triceps dip.Though the Bodytower is primarily interested in upper body workouts, the unit does allow for assistance with crunches and calf raises. As others have mentioned here, the unit will most likely feel slightly undersized for those over six feet all. I'm 6'3" and the unit is entirely functional though I imagine I'd be a bit more comfortable with a slightly larger unit. Regardless, the Bodytower is an excellent home gym addition for those interested in increasing upper body strength. It's well constructed for the low price point and offers a myriad of different exercises. I've used the Bodytower for several hours and have yet to find an outright negative. Definitely recommended.

Assembly was routine for this type of product. I used some ratcheting wrenches and an electric drill so it was pretty easy. The hardest thing was extricating it from the copious amount of wrapping and packaging. It seems pretty sturdy and should last a long time. After putting it together I played around with a few of the exercises. I'm really looking forward to expanding my workout routine using the variety of things it will let me do.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful

The Bodytower is a well-built machine with more functionality each time we use it. The box arrived in good condition--everything wrapped well, nothing got too jostled, and no wasted space. It took 2 of us about 30 minutes to assemble the tower, although 1 of us could have done it. Nearly half the time was spent unwrapping everything and laying it out, but I'd rather have that than the opposite. The instructions were easy to follow, and if you have your own tools - basic hex wrenches - it might go more quickly. The cool thing about the Bodytower is the adjustable bar, which is easy to move up and down, and increases both the intensity of the workouts but also the # of exercises. There is a flimsy card with exercises to put on the bar, but we just put it next the machine. There are videos online but we haven't looked at them yet. I'm 5'8" and my husband is 5"11 - the tower is fine for us. I think if you're taller, like over 6'1" or 6'2", it might not feel as comfortable, although it would probably work just fine. Overall, this was an easy purchase to make - and we can't wait to find more new exercises to do on this.Share your thoughts with other customers:
